I have tried meditation; quieting my thoughts. It works sometimes and I have to admit it’s therapeutic.
That said, you will hardly find me cooking or cleaning in silence. You will also hardly find me taking walks without one earphone on. I am always listening to something inspiring. Podcasts have hence become my favorite.
I download my podcasts on CastBox and I have loved a couple. Check them out.
Jesus and Jollof
Luvvie Ajayi and Yvonne Orji humorously take us through their success journey detailing the sacrifices they each had to make.
The rawness, humor and proverbs will keep you coming back for more advice.
I am always expectant whenever I get a notification a new episode is up. Yvonne talks of her journey to becoming an actor and a stand-up comedian. She lets us in on her journey from broke to now owning a home. Her faith in God will strengthen yours. She held onto God on her worst days.
Luvvie also lets us in on her 15 years overnight success of becoming a writer on her blog, an author of a New York Times’ bestseller, a speaker and a digital strategist.
The two Nigerian queens also don’t hold back when it comes to relationship talk. People pay for the kind of information they give, so jump on it while it’s free.
Adelle Onyango is legally clueless and you will love how real she is keeping it on her podcast.
I have been searching for local podcasts so bumping into this podcast meant binge listening. She talks about quitting her job and finding herself now that she is no longer on traditional radio.
You will love her guests too who talk real-life issues on passion, insecurities, grief and many more. You will definitely resonate with a lot of it too.
Oprah’s Super Soul Conversation
What’s not to love about Oprah? Her great interviewing skills are incomparable. She sits down with her guests and digs deeper on their life experiences. You will be awed by how much she gets them to open up.
The conversations will awaken something in you that you may or may not know was there. You will also feel inspired and get advice from well-known individuals with experience.
The Robin Sharma Mastery Sessions
Author Robin Sharma shares his wisdom on his podcast to help his listeners live their best life. As the name suggests he drops knowledge from life experiences and from his best-selling books like the 5 am Club.
From talking about distraction to being productive and resilient you will love his sober advice that is relatable in our day to day life.
Oprah’s Master Class: The Podcast
This is another Oprah Winfrey’s podcast only that she lets her guest tell their story. They tell their story of failure and success. They give details on how they became the person they are today.
We all need a little motivation and listening to people whom the odds were against them making it in life is truly inspiring.
My favorite, I have to admit is Jay Z. As a young boy the odds were against him and yet he used that as fuel to become the man he is today. Failure always being his teacher.
If you’re also eager to know Oprah’s story, this is the place.
